Shoe Parades

If you are very passionate about helping orphans around the world, and you have been a part of Club GoBeDo Shoe Drives, the next step is having a Shoe Parade!

Club GoBeDo Shoe Parades are a fun and engaging way to raise awareness around your community for the needs of orphans.  Plan neighborhood sidewalk parades, school yard parades, church parades down the aisles and parking lots, and even shopping mall parades with various businesses joining in the fun!  (Be safe!  Only choose parade routes where you can keep a close watch on the children…please see our safety requirements and disclaimer)

Pass out Shoe Parade Advertisement Fliers* in advance to neighbors, school families, church members or businesses informing them of your parade day and time and route asking them for donations.  Ask them all to purchase their shoes and be ready to donate as the parade passes by!  Decorate your bikes, wagons and strollers or anything with wheels using balloons, streamers, banners, flags-  make your parade as fun and festive as you can.  On your boom boxes or speaker systems, play the GoBeDo Song as loud as you can as you march in your parade.  Have your neighbors, schoolmates and church members drop their donated shoes into your wagons and strollers as you march by in the parade.  Only do this with adult chaperones and organizers, of course!

If you’re a school teacher, Sunday school teacher or parent organizer, download this Parents’ Information Flier* to pass out to the parents for explanation of their children’s involvement in the parade.   Also, you may wish to pass out these downloadable reward certificates for the kids who have participated in the parade:  Most colorful Bike, Most colorful Wagon, Silliest Decorations, Most Balloons, and finally, Most Donated Shoes (which can be given to the class or group which collects the most shoes in the parade).

Want to make the day even bigger and more fun? Invite Club GoBeDo founder, Jerri James and children’s singer, Mary Rice Hopkins for a Club GoBeDo parade event and concert!  Click here for booking information.

Want to raise awareness for your Shoe Parade among your church members, school families, local businesses or neighbors?
